Hellgate Lions Park

You're invited to the Friends of Two Rivers 2017 Annual Meeting for updates on our projects and status:  Hellgate Lions Park; bicycle/pedestrian trails; Superfund Run; Milltown State Park; Bonner Milltown History Center; financial report; and election of officers.

Date: Wednesday, June 28; Place: Hellgate Lions Park Barn, 1305 Haaglund, West Riverside; Time: 7:00 PM.

We hope you can attend for a tour of the park (our newest project), good conversation, and light refreshments. Please come and bring friends!

Directions to the Barn (a community center and meeting place): From the new traffic signal at the intersection of First Street and Highway 200 (across from the Town Pump main entrance), take First Street north until you come to the Park and big red barn on your right.

LongRangePlanThe Missoula Conservation District is holding countywide Community Listening Sessions including the Missoula Public Library on Tuesday, June 27 at 6:00 pm. Meetings are open to all Missoula County landowners and residents.

People can attend and express their natural resource concerns and priorities, both for their own private land and for the County as a whole. Feedback received during the sessions will be used to inform the next Long Range Plan, a plan that sets the District's goals and priorities, including grant programs, for the next five years.

Here is the link to our listening sessions webpage: http://missoulacd.org/about-us/long-range-plan/

If you cannot attend, please take the On Line survey.

While we anticipate the physical opening of the Milltown State Park's Confluence area, we can get a head start on experiencing the natural and cultural historic interpretation the park offers. In an article "Not just a pretty place: Milltown Park adds culture to confluence," the Missoulian reports on the story map "A Confluence of Stories: Nature and Culture at Milltown State Park."

BalsamrootIt's time to admire all of those beautiful May flowers brought to us courtesy of a month of April showers on Wednesday, May 3, 6pm to 8pm at the Wildflower Walk at the Milltown State Park Overlook. Celebrate National Wildflower Week on a hike from the Overlook to the Clark Fork floodplain with Milltown State Park staff and members of the Clark Fork Chapter of the Montana Native Plant Society. Meet at the Milltown State Park Overlook, 1353 Deer Creek Road. For more information call Michael Kustudia, 542-5533 or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
